Roof Rafters with Ultra-Span

One of the recurring problems with designing rafters in Aegis Design happens when you import the TRS file from Layout into Design and get a result like shown above. Here are the steps I've used to solve this problem:

Step 1: After opening the TRZ, hit 'Control-V' to open Versatruss. If it does not start up, re-open the TRZ and try again.
Step 2: Use the 'Member' list box to select "T1". This is the top chord rafter.
Step 3: Delete the "HO" cuts on both the left and right endcuts of "T1".
Step 4: Click on "Save Member Modification".
Step 5: Close Versatruss, open the "Modify Bearing" dialog box.
Step 6: Move the right-end bearing to the correct location.
Step 7: If necessary, go to the "Utilities" menu, choose "Scale" and "Best Fit with Steel". This will allow you to see the entire rafter.
Step 8: Analyze and save.
